If you’re a Star Wars fan, you are absolutely going to love your visit to Disney. All you have to do is head over to Hollywood studios and access Galaxy’s Edge.
Once you’re inside the area of Galaxy’s Edge, you might be a little confused over some of the issues you face. This is common, but the question is, why is Galaxy’s Edge so confusing?
They designed Galaxy’s Edge after the world, Batuu, but many Star Wars fans feel that it is lacking some of the experience of the earlier Star Wars movies.
If you grew up with the Star Wars envisioned by George Lucas, then you will likely think of this more as an entertaining place to visit.

There are other things that may make this area a little more confusing as well.
For example, they created a place that was surrounded by the Star Wars universe but it’s almost as if they forgot that it would be located in the middle of a theme park.
Millions of people come to visit Galaxy’s Edge and some are left wondering exactly what it was they visited.
Of course, it doesn’t help that the signs, where there are any, are written in Batuu, and in order to find out where you are and what you can do, you have to have them translated.
In addition, the rides that are included in the area do not have signs of their own.
How Many Rides Are At Galaxy’s Edge?
As far as the rides are concerned, there are 2 official rides in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
That being said, you will have to stand in a long queue in many cases but if you allow yourself to be immersed in the entire experience, you will appreciate the fact that both of them have a lot to offer.
The entire area of Galaxy’s Edge is an attraction all of its own. As soon as you step foot in it, you are immersed in the area of Batuu and you can enjoy the experience, even without jumping on one of the rides.
If you do decide to take a ride, here are your options:
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run:
Have you ever wanted to take a ride on the Millennium Falcon? Step on board this immersive ride that allows you to take hyperspace and a flight that you will certainly never forget.
It’s not just a matter of riding on the Millennium Falcon, which would be a dream come true for any Star Wars fan.
You also are in the middle of a mission and it is up to you to make sure that the mission is successful. Fortunately, you have the fastest starship in the galaxy helping you to achieve your goal.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance:
Are you ready to help The Resistance? You can do so in this unique ride that will throw you into the middle of an adventure that you will not soon forget. After being recruited, you will play your part in helping to defeat stormtroopers on board a First-Order Star Destroyer after you have been captured.
Fortunately, you are not on your own to take care of business. You have BB-8, Rey, and perhaps even another familiar face or two to help you along the way. The resistance needs you, so get in line for this awesome ride.
There is just no doubt that this is one of the best rides not only in Disney but in the world, as much as I dislike the Genie + system I do think it’s worth it for Rise Of The Resistance, I’m not much of a Star Wars fan personally but this mind literally raised the bar.
Check out this YouTube video of Rise Of The Resistance to get a feel of the ride but be sure not to spoil the experience before you visit.
Savis Workshop:
Although this is not a ride, it is well worth mentioning in this area. You have to pay money to enter the lightsaber workshop, but it is one of the more amazing attractions located within Galaxy’s Edge.
Have you ever wanted your own, customized lightsaber? You will be amazed at what you are able to create. Just make sure you have your credit card handy and connected to your profile because you will need it.
Droid Depot:
Another attraction at Galaxy’s Edge allows you to construct your own droid. After registering the droid of your choice with the clerk, you can take your blueprint and parts and begin assembling them. It’s an experience that any Star Wars fan will love.
Why Are There No Ride Signs At Galaxy’s Edge?
One of the questions that many people have about Galaxy’s Edge is regarding the lack of signs for the rides. This was done on purpose.
At Galaxy’s Edge, you are visiting Batu and are not actually supposed to be in the middle of a Disney theme park. As a result, there are not any signs that direct you but there are plenty of ways to find your way around, including the app.
Beware it can be extremely hot in this land with little shade during the summer months!
The best thing you can do is to appreciate the fact that you are in the middle of an immersive attraction. The rides are fantastic, but they do what they can to help hide the fact that you are actually in a theme park.

How To Get On Rise Of The Resistance
If you’re ready to ride on the Rise of the Resistance in Galaxy’s Edge, you need to know when to do it and how to get there.
The line to Rise of the Resistance can be quite long, so it’s best if you either get there as soon as possible in the morning or try to hit the line at the very end of the day. You can also use your Genie+ to enter the Lightning Lane, provided you paid extra for the service.
The easiest way to get to Rise of the Resistance is to take Hollywood Boulevard, and then take a left as if you are heading for the Muppets area. You will enter Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge and it will be an easy trip to get to Rise of the Resistance.
How Long Do You Need At Galaxy’s Edge?
If you plan on visiting Galaxy’s Edge, you want to make sure you leave plenty of time to enjoy everything it has to offer. How long should you stay at Galaxy’s Edge?
There is no time limit to visiting Galaxy’s Edge, and you could easily spend an entire day at the attraction, especially if you are a dedicated Star Wars fan. At the very least, save yourself enough time to view the attraction and to ride the 2 rides within it.
Since you are already in Hollywood studios, you can visit Galaxy’s Edge from the moment you walk through the ticket area. The attraction is open as long as Hollywood Studios is open, and you don’t need an extra reservation or tickets to visit Galaxy’s Edge.
The bottom line is, it can be a little confusing if you are in Galaxy’s Edge, but if you immerse yourself in the experience, you will undoubtedly walk away from it thinking about the next time you can visit.
There may currently only be 2 rides however you really don’t want to miss these the theming of both attractions is simply breathtaking!
